INFORMATION

The 35th running of the Grizzly/Cub races will take place on Sunday 5th March 2023. Grizzly participants can expect 3000' ascent over 20 miles, with two sections of pebble beaches, totalling over a mile; two energy sapping bogs, where runners are often up to their waists in water and mud; and the infamous "Stairway to Heaven", a steep path up the side of a cliff. Cub participants will experience the two sections of pebble beaches and the Stairway to Heaven over the 9 mile course.

This is a not for profit race organised soley by local volunteers and any net profits from the race are donated to various local groups, organisations and charities. To date, approximately £490,000 has been donated over the past 35 years.

Important Information:

Please note that this year entries are on a first come first served basis and a ballot for places is NOT being conducted. Once the race is full no additional places will be made available to runners although a change of runner process will be in operation as in previous years.

Note that this year runners will not receive a race t-shirt as part of their entry fee. Runners will be able to separately purchase a race t-shirt online and details of this process will follow separately.

Please also note that again this year we are operating a cup-free race meaning that runners will have to carry their own water supply in bladder packs or their own cups which can be filled at water stations around the course.
