Family walked to the front of Winter Park City Hall United. As they stood on the steps, the family's attorney let the police department have it, but officers burst onto the scene with hot blood, not cool and collected like professionals. The scene started last february when Daniel's family rented space at the brand new Winter park Events center for his niece's wedding. Police say they got *** call, Daniel was drunk and aggressive. Department says when officers arrived, Daniel was so aggressive, he punched two officers, knocked them out cold. Then the third tried tase him and when that didn't work, the officer shot and killed him at nearly point blank range seven times. Now the family says Daniel was drunk, so they brought him out of this door here to get some fresh air and when police arrived, they say they did not know why they were here. Now. The sister, the family says tried to intervene, got between the police officer and Daniel told the officer he had drank too much that he did not have *** gun and according to the family, there were two, not three officers involved. Initially, the family says Daniel did punch one officer because he grabbed his sister and that it was the second officer who tased, then shot him all in front of his family. The wedding party and the wedding guests. Daniel's partner and three Children were at the news conference sharing pictures of *** smiling Daniel at the wedding reception. Just hours before he was killed, we're building *** future together and in less than two minutes it was all taken from us. So what does the family want at this point, will they want the results of an F. D. L. E. Investigation to be released? They want to keep Daniel's memory alive and they want answers. Now we reached out to the Winter Park Police Department and they responded through an email saying this was *** tragic event that resulted in *** loss of life.
