To kick off travel in the new year, JetBlue is offering travelers $50 off round-trip flights that cost at least $100.

Book by Dec. 13 with the promo code "NEWYEAR" to take advantage of this deal. Keep in mind that the discount can only be applied to flights in January and February 2024. Flights on Fridays and Sundays are excluded.

For example, the below round-trip January flight from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is available to book for $84, making it $50 cheaper than the original base fare of $135.

Though this sale advertises discounted round-trip flights, you can also save $25 on each one-way segment with a minimum spend of $50 per segment, excluding taxes and fees. Discounted flights are for nonstop economy flights (Mint fares excluded), specifically Blue Basic, Blue or Blue Extra fares.

As a reminder, the Blue Basic fare only allows one personal item that can fit under the seat. Any full-size carry-on brought to the gate must be checked for $65. To check a bag with either the Blue Basic or Blue fare, you'll pay $35 for your first checked bag and $45 for your second, though having the JetBlue Plus Card may benefit you in that regard.

Change and cancel fees apply to the Blue Basic fare. Both the Blue and Blue Extra fares allow complimentary flight changes, and the latter also includes early boarding.
